You're 53, you're gorgeous, and you're mine, You're 53, you're beautiful, and you're mine, So what if I'm only 2 past 29. I don't care one 'bout your saggy bum, I'm happy with your charms you're my number one You're 53, you're gorgeous, and you're mine, Don't mind waiting for the pills to kick in, You can tell me 'bout the Beatles in the 60s again, Young people today just ain't happenin' When you're 53, you're gorgeous, and you're mine, We'll be keeping tight with Clancy on a Saturday night, And I'll be there to read to you when you're losing your sight, Young people today they just don't behave right So don't worry baby about a thing, I aint gonna 'lope with some gorgeous young thing, What's a couple decades between good friends You're 53, you're gorgeous, one more time, You're 53, you're beautiful, and you're mine.

There's always someone listening in, These walls have ears, connected to your phone, Oh now sweet thing, you should really stop your dreaming, Just close, your ears, I'd like to, well... HONEY I'D LIKE TO TELL YOU BUT YOU KNOW I CAN'T Honey I'd really like to ...no no no.... When I compare the two of you Then well, that's life, isn't it... funny? These Walls are all I do, It's time, get dressed... I'll see you NEXT SUMMER!!!!

I don't think about you when I'm drunk I don't think about you when I'm drunk I don't think about you when I'm drunk I don't think about you when I'm drunk I don't think about you when I'm high I don't think about you when I'm high I don't think about you when I'm high I know you're with another guy and it's alright! I heard you sleep round with other men I heard you sleep round with other men Well good for you! I don't mind I'm gonna get smashed tonight so it's alright And all the pretty girls with their boys, And we're dancing, dancing and drinking and having a laugh, We'll dance to crap techno 'cos we don't mind We dance to crap techno 'cos we're so high Babe you're got such a familiar face Babe you've got such a familiar face, Well I'm usually pretty good at putting names to people's faces, Well hello it's nice to meet you and welcome to my place! I heard that you flushed my heart down your drain I heard that you flushed my heart down your drain well that's insane! But I feel no pain Well tonight I'm gonna get smashed, fall flat on my face and get back up again. And I won't think about you when i'm dead I won't think about you when i'm dead And all the guys who have been in your bed, It just wont even be something that will enter my head. I don't think about you when I'm drunk I don't think about you when I'm drunk I don't think about you when I'm drunk I don't think about you when I'm drunk

A little older a little more weary, A few more worries a few more fears A little wiser a bit more scared now, A bit more money, a bit more busy, Aware of danger, aversed to anger, Responsible, but not much time, Can’t be your friend mate, a bit too busy, Right now to fall in love, I’m sorry but I just can’t go out tonight, Oh no I just don’t feel the best maybe another time, Think I’ll stay and watch TV, Wait until next week, Another week another decade, Look how much we’ve achieved. A bit more clever, but slow to learn now, Easier to judge but harder to stop, Many memories, not many new ones, Much less time to spend in the sun Hesitation, procrastination Had a dream when I was young. Shaking fast lane lights they dazzle Make sure you catch them when they come Oh I think I’ll pass this one by, Many opportunities I have missed, But there’s still more to come, Think I’ll stay and watch TV, Wait until next week, Another week, another decade, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young, A little older but still I’m young.

For Anon. 04:27
Many have tried and never will know, And you'll curse it if you let it stray but you're helpless and slow, It fills without warning and is wasted on those, Who are staring right through ya to hearts that are closed, Through Paris and London with their streets that collide, With a million warm faces with their sad darting eyes, Through the smokestacks of history and the rapids of yer life, Is the true love between two that never arrives. So sing with me friend, Put your arm in my hand, If we never know how it is then that's just how it is, We'll drink for the lucky and salute all the rest, Who wander through living without knowing their best. To the beautiful and crooked it's all just the same, Where one is the poison the other's the chain, The weak ones they settle and the little ones grow thin, And there's others who lay hiding, they never peer in, And in fathers and mothers through all of their lives, Is the true love between two that never arrives. So sing with me sister, Put your arm in my hand, If we never know how it is then that's just how it is, We'll drink for the lucky and salute all the rest, Who wander through living without knowing their best. For me I am broken, I'm shattered and numb, I'm outstanding and restless and useless and dumb, But I know I have seen it, and I'm glad it exists, And I'll keep warm knowing we're all part of this.

about

Halfbeak's first E.P (To be) released on the first day of (northern hemispheric) Summer 2012.

The first of ten Halfbeak EPs with nine to follow, one for the first day of each month.

"Killing One Bird With Two Stones" was initially intended as a full album reflecting a singer's gradual loss of sanity as life takes its toll on his sanity stone by stone.

These are the first five songs from that album, so are relatively more upbeat, care-free and, well, sane that the ones to come.

These are home-recordings from November 2011 to March 2012.
